What it takes to start a business

Whether you start it as a side hustle or not, starting a brand is hard…well.. It’s not really hard, it takes a lot of work and patience and if you can’t put in the work and hope for good results then this is not for you.

Those who start business are known to want freedom financially and also travel however they want and work their own hours. It takes…

Research

This doesn’t only apply to skincare but to other businesses too. You need to research your target audience, competitors, the industry itself, suppliers, the cost of starting the business and more.

Doing your research makes it easier to start your business especially when it comes to finding suppliers. You get to compare prices, Shipping fees and just choose what works for you.

Sacrifice

When starting a business you have to make sacrifices. This means cross nighting, waking up early, putting each cent into your business and if you are not fond of talking to people, in this case you have to do it whether you like it or not.

You have to go out there and tell people about your business, what you do and how they will benefit from your product/service. This is known as marketing and I know a lot of people say you can market digitally but it’s not everyone who shops online and use their cellphones that much.

Capital

Starting a business requires capital/funding. Whether it’s your money or you get it from investors…you need money.

Some people apply for business loans but do you really want to start your business with debt. I would suggest getting a 9to5 job only for time being. Once you have the money then you can choose to quit and focus on your small business.

Not all business will require capital, but if you are starting a clothing brand, skincare brand, shoe brand or an art gallery you will need money. If you are still at school and age doesn’t allow you to get a job start saving your pocket money right now.

Consistency

You need to get the word out about your business and social media is the right place especially if it’s an online business. You need to create content, engage with your customers, scroll down the “for you” page and “explore” page to see what other businesses in the industry you interested in are posting.

Another thing is you will have to share your content in different platforms like Facebook stories, Facebook pages, Facebook groups and YouTube shorts to mention a few. Also do Livestream Speaking about your business.

You can take your time to figure it all out but the sooner you start, the better. You will figure everything else out in the process. Happy empire building and I wish all the best .
